Having lived away from his parents for a long time during the Balkan war, Antoan Kurti has found himself alienated from them. Whereas normally the child finds within the family life a safe haven and a natural environment to develop step by step its own identity - in a dynamic balance of sameness and difference – Antoan’s life developed partially away from that situation. Going back to his parents, he uses photography to explore their personalities and daily lives, and perhaps by doing this also his ‘way back’ to the source of who he is - or at least, was.
